Introducing CHERI ROGGOW and THE MUSIC PLAYGROUND

In 1971, "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" was a hit jingle sung by The New Seekers for the Coca Cola company. In the fifth grade, Cheri requested a copy from the company and was quickly playing it on the piano. 'I'd like to teach the world to sing' was to become a lifetime goal. By age 14 she was teaching her peers piano, and at age 17 she was the accompanist for the Greater Chicago Youth Chorale on tour in Europe. After obtaining her BME at University of Northern Colorado, children became Cheri's best instructors. In 1995 she began teaching in the group setting, and in September of 2000 started her own music school in Colorado Springs. Over these last seven years Kids' Music Playground has averaged 200 children a year. Roggow has been a regional speaker for the Pikes Peak Music Teachers National Association, and continues to operate her local school. Cheri Roggow lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Lowell, and their three children.

'I'd like to teach the world to sing' gives The Music Playground a sizable goal. The world needs the joy and opportunity musical training can bring. The Music Playground envisions bringing the gift of music to children around the world.
